Overcome Depression With Rhonda Byrne’s ‘The Secret’ – A Life Changing Book

Many of us who are battling depression or simply want to transform our lives for the better are looking for the secret formula to win our battles. In our search, we may come across one relevant book entitled ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrnes that will show you how to use positivity as your main tool for victory. Does the ‘Secret’ really work to change our lives?

‘The Secret’ is a self-help book that focuses on the power of positive thinking in one’s personal journey to overcome depression and change one’s life for the better. It is written by Rhonda Byrne famous for her advocacies on the value and importance of positive thoughts. Though she has written another book that also deals with the power of the thoughts, it is in ‘The Secret’ that she was able to gain her widespread popularity.

Does the ‘Secret’ really work? The book is heavily anchored on the law of attraction specifically the use of positive thinking as a solution to getting anything that we want from life. It shows us how, through our positive thoughts, we can control our situation and transform our lives in whatever aspects- be it our personal or professional lives irrespective of how serious or mundane.

The author is steadfast in her claim that nothing is impossible if only we learn how to use the law of attraction to manage our lives. For Rhonda, the law of attraction is absolute. In this law, it says that whatever needs or wants that we have, the world will give it to us as long as we think positively. The law of attraction pictures the world as a giving world that works in favor and not against our wishes and desires only if we will them.

There is no doubt that the law of attraction, particularly positive thinking, works to help us feel better, do better, and live a rewarding life. But it is not an absolute law as it fails to take into consideration human frailties and the strong force and temptation of evil that can hinder positivity. Though by nature the human and the world are generally kind, the fact remains that the lure and temptations of evil exists.

Does the ‘Secret’ really work? It does to a large extent as to motivate us to channel our energies to positive thoughts to get what we need and want out of life. We just have to learn how to resist the attractive temptations of the evil and we are good to go.

My personal experience of ‘The Secret’ is that it utterly changed my life. It and associated books and beliefs along with plenty of professional help has enabled me to overcome depression and addiction and smoking and repeated episodes of self harm.

If I am to recommend it for one reason and one reason only, it gave me hope, it gave me a light to follow that potentially could change my life. You see all the professional help in the world didn’t enable me to really take responsibility for my own life. I was still sick in my own mind before I met ‘The Secret’ because I was attending doctors and taking medication. I would like to recommend Rhonda Byrne’s book from the rooftops. It utterly changed my life and continues to do so every day. Whenever I find myself going off track I know I need to get into the mindset of the law of attraction to turn things around. Believe me it is often very difficult. Anyone who suffers from depression and associated problems and personality types knows that they are having a lifelong battle with their head and within their head. ‘The Secret’ amongst other supports gave me a lifeline and an awareness of self like nothing else to date has.

There are probably many skeptics out there who would question this book and self help books in general. To them I would say they are very privileged because they probably don’t need self help books and I am happy for them that they don’t. For the rest of us who struggle every day with mental health problems I would say that this book is nothing short of brilliant and life changing.
